Editor-in-Chief of Molecular Cytogenetics, Professor Emanuela Volpi.
Prof. Volpi is a Professor in the School of Life Sciences, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Westminster in London and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology. She earned a PhD in Evolutionary Biology from the University of Rome ‘La Sapienza’. Before joining Westminster, she held post-doctoral positions at Cancer Research UK, a research tenure at the Italian National Research Council, and was Head of Molecular Cytogenetics at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics at the University of Oxford. Her research expertise is in molecular cytogenetics and chromosome biology, with specific focus on genome functional organisation, chromosomal fragility and instability, nuclear architecture, and cancer biomarkers. She co-chairs the ‘Chromosomes’ integrity, stability and dynamics’ permanent working group of the European Cytogeneticists Association.
