Do Chromebooks represent the future of the PC, and should Microsoft be worried?

Microsoft has entirely dominated the desktop and laptop PC space for much of the past quarter-century, with minimal competition from the likes of Apple and others. A much newer tech giant, Google, has been the first real market disruptor when it comes to PCs in the office, in the school, and even in the home. Google's ChomeOS was once ridiculed for being a 'glorified web browser,' but in recent years, it's become apparent that the OS is a mature and capable platform in its own right. The addition of Android app support via the Google Play Store has bolstered the value proposition of ChromeOS, and the lower-end hardware often running the operating system is by and large in a better place than it was even just a couple of years ago. Unlike Microsoft's Windows, which is bogged down by legacy code and a need to appease slow-moving enterprise customers, Chromebooks are fast, nimble, and easy to wipe clean on the fly. Many are asking whether the future of the laptop and desktop PC belongs to

The Rings of Power still set for five seasons, even as interest dwindles

Though the season one premiere of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power made a big splash on social media, fan reaction was mixed overall on the rest of the series' initial effort, with many expressing dissatisfaction at Sauron's "big reveal" in the first season finale. And unfortunately, it looks like these mixed reactions have led to some disinterest in the series' second season, which premiered just a few weeks ago and was streamed by just over 900k households (per Samba TV via Deadline) in its first 24 hours, a catastrophic 50% drop from the first season. However, recently Amazon fired back at these dismal initial viewing reports, saying that the first four episodes together have reached 40 million viewers in 11 days, which sounds a lot better on paper, even though it is still far lower than the viewership of the first season, or other hit Amazon Prime TV shows like The Boys or Fallout. No matter how you look at it, The Rings of Power is struggling in its sophomore effort, whic

The last Venom movie might just be the first good one

The Venom film series has been a bit of a mixed bag thus far. While Tom Hardy's performance as Eddie Brock in the first film helped 2018's Venom exceed expectations, the overall plot of the film wasn't the strongest, and 2021 sequel, Let There be Carnage, felt similarly flimsy. Still, box office numbers don't lie and with both films earning over a collective billion dollars, there really wasn't much of a reason for Sony not to continue the series. As the name implies, Venom: The Last Dance will be the final film in Sony's venom series, at least with Tom Hardy at the helm, and based on the most recent trailer, the film will feature an irreverent tone, plenty of references to other films, and the long-awaited arrival of a deep-cut Marvel villain. Could The Last Dance end this lackluster series on a high note? And will we FINALLY see Spider-Man? Let us know in the comments below!
